Intro to The Kauaʻi Diet
Aloha and welcome to The Kauaʻi Diet blog. Here I will be posting pictures and recipes for dishes created with 100% Kauaʻi ingredients. We live in such an abundant ʻaina that can grow just about anything. I understand that modern businesses do keep society going, yet big agriculture and eating for convenience does not make us any happier.
By eating local we all promote health, support local business, limit our footprint on the environment, and preserve traditional cultures. Furthermore, as we develop cooking skills and local botanical knowledge we foster the ability to live sovereignly, not having to rely on imported food from America or any other geographically distant location. In the event of a natural disaster or world crisis, we will continue to prosper.
